How Much Money Do You Need to Show for the Visa?
For a Student visa you show the first-year tuition you still owe, plus living costs for up to nine months. The rate depends on where you study and on the date you apply, not on when the course starts.

Worked example. MSc International Business at £19,500 (2026/27), nothing paid yet, studying outside London: £19,500 + £1,203 × 9 = £30,327 (about NPR 59.1 lakhs). A deposit you have already paid comes off the tuition part.

What Do You Need to Get In from Nepal?
- Master’s: a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university such as TU, KU or PU. Universities set their own reading of Nepali grades; see how UK universities read a TU GPA.
- Bachelor’s: NEB Grade 12 results; some courses need a foundation year first. See UK study after +2.
- English: usually IELTS 6.0 to 6.5 overall. Some universities accept an MOI letter; see studying without IELTS.

When Can You Start?
- September 2027: the main UK intake. Undergraduate applications go through UCAS, with an equal-consideration deadline of 13 January 2027 (18:00 UK time); see the September 2027 timeline.
Scholarships, Work and the Visa Rating
Scholarships. Chevening is open to Nepali citizens; GREAT and Commonwealth Master’s Scholarships are not open to Nepal in 2026/27. Check University of Plymouth’s own international awards. See the scholarships guide.
Work. Up to 20 hours a week in term time at degree level. After the course, the Graduate visa gives 18 months for applications from 1 January 2027. A Skilled Worker job usually needs £41,700 or the going rate, with a lower new-entrant rate (70% of the going rate, at least £33,400).
Visa rating. Since 1 June 2026 UKVI rates each university’s visa compliance as Green, Amber or Red. UKVI has not published the ratings, and HOA does not claim a rating for any university. See the UKVI RAG guide.
How to Apply from Nepal, Step by Step
Check the course and its fee
Find your course on University of Plymouth’s website and note the fee, entry rules and English requirement for your intake.
Apply
Postgraduates apply on the university’s own portal; undergraduates apply through UCAS. HOA reviews your statement free.
Accept the offer and meet conditions
Send final transcripts, English results and anything else the offer asks for.
Get your NOC
Apply on noc.moest.gov.np (NPR 2,000). Banks need it before sending tuition abroad.
Pay the deposit and get a CAS
The university issues a CAS once you are unconditional and have paid any deposit it asks for.
Hold the money for 28 days
Keep tuition still owed plus nine months of living costs in an account in your or your parent’s name for 28 days in a row.
Take the TB test
At a Home Office-approved clinic in Nepal: IOM Kathmandu, IOM Damak or Norvic International Hospital, Kathmandu.
Apply for the Student visa
Apply online, pay the £558 fee and health surcharge, and give biometrics at the visa centre in Kathmandu. A decision usually takes about 3 weeks.
