Our Story

Who Is House of Admissions?

House of Admissions was founded in 2016 at Putalisadak, Kathmandu by Rahul Chhetri, with a single, deliberate choice: to specialise exclusively in the United Kingdom. No USA. No Canada. No Australia. UK only.

That decision means HOA’s counsellors hold deep, current expertise in UKVI Student Visa rules, the UKVI RAG compliance system, the MOI letter route that saves Nepali students up to NPR 35,000 in IELTS fees, and scholarships from Chevening to automatic merit bursaries — knowledge that generalist agencies advising on multiple countries cannot match.

HOA grew from a single office in Kathmandu to a second branch at Trade Mall, Chipledhunga, Pokhara in 2024, serving students from all 7 provinces. HOA is rated 4.9/5 from 490+ verified reviews and has placed 5,000+ Nepali students at 153 UK universities.

HOA is UKVI-compliant and follows UK Agent Quality Framework (AQF)-aligned principles, a sector-wide initiative led by the British Council, UKCISA, BUILA and Universities UK International. Learn about HOA’s AQF alignment →

HOA History

What Has HOA Achieved Since 2016?

House of Admissions has guided 5,000+ Nepali students to UK university offers since 2016 (internal tracking data). Each milestone below is a count, not an estimate.

2016

HOA Founded at Putalisadak, Kathmandu

Rahul Chhetri opens HOA at Putalisadak 28, Kathmandu with an exclusive UK-only mandate. The first students are counselled on UK Masters degrees and UK Student Visa requirements.

2019

1,000+ Placements & First Chevening Cohort

HOA reaches its first 1,000 student placement milestone. The first cohort of HOA-mentored Chevening Scholars receives offers, establishing HOA’s scholarship mentoring track record.

2024

Pokhara Branch Opens at Chipledhunga

HOA opens its second office at Trade Mall, 3rd Floor, Chipledhunga, Pokhara, extending full UK university guidance to Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces, with the same free model and UKVI-compliant team.

2025–2026

5,000+ Students — £2M+ Scholarships — 50+ Chevening Scholars

HOA reaches 5,000+ total UK student placements at 153 partner universities. Total scholarships secured exceed £2,000,000. 50+ Nepali Chevening Scholars mentored. Rated 4.9/5 from 490+ verified Google and Facebook reviews across all 7 provinces. (Internal tracking data, 2016–2026.)

Why UK-only? A UK Master’s typically takes 1 year, often saving a full year of cost versus longer programmes elsewhere. The Graduate Route Visa gives post-study work with no sponsor required — 18 months for applications filed on or after 1 January 2027, 2 years for those filed on or before 31 December 2026 (3 years for PhD). And 25+ UK universities accept MOI letters — no IELTS required for eligible Nepali graduates. HOA was built to specialise in this specific opportunity for Nepal.

2026 Note: UKVI RAG System

From 1 June 2026, UKVI rates UK universities Red, Amber, or Green on visa refusal, enrolment, and completion rates (UKVI Sponsor Guidance, June 2026). Red-band universities face a CAS allocation cut of at least 10%. HOA monitors all 153 partner universities for RAG compliance status and does not refer students to Amber or Red-band institutions.

How It’s Free

How Is HOA Free for Students?

HOA is compensated through standard referral arrangements with UK universities, paid only on successful enrolment. HOA’s commercial success depends on student outcomes.

Students Pay Zero

No registration fee. No SOP fee. No processing fee. No visa preparation fee. No scholarship application fee. Students pay only official government charges: UK Student Visa (£558), IHS (£776/year), and TB test (approximately NPR 4,000–6,000). HOA charges nothing.

Universities Pay Standard Rates

HOA receives a referral commission from UK universities only when a student successfully enrols. Commission rates are standard across all 153 partner universities — reducing financial incentive to push any specific institution over another.

Student-First is Commercially Rational

If HOA recommends the wrong university, the student may be rejected (HOA earns zero) or struggle and leave a negative review (HOA’s 4.9/5 rating depends on outcomes). Career-first guidance aligns with HOA’s commercial interest. Student-first ethics policy →

Warning: Any person or organisation claiming to represent HOA while requesting payment for consultation, application processing, or visa preparation is engaging in fraud. HOA’s services are permanently and unconditionally free to students. If in doubt, contact HOA directly at houseofadmissions.com/contact/ or call +977-1-5926568 (Kathmandu) / +977-9802373936 (Pokhara/WhatsApp).

What House of Admissions provides free of charge, and what a student pays directly to third parties. HOA is paid a commission by partner universities after a student enrols, which is why the student-facing service carries no fee.

HOA was founded in 2016 by Rahul Chhetri at Putalisadak 28, Kathmandu, Nepal. HOA's internally tracked UK Student Visa success rate from Nepal is 99% (2016–2026). This is the result of a structured pre-submission document audit: bank statements verified against the 28-day rule (£10,539 outside London, approximately NPR 20.5 lakhs), TB test certificate validity from UKVI-approved clinics, CAS accuracy cross-checked, and IELTS or MOI compliance confirmed before submission.

Yes. HOA checks Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter eligibility during the first consultation. Students who completed their previous degree in English at TU, KU, PU, or affiliated institutions may qualify to apply to 25+ UK universities without IELTS, saving up to NPR 35,000 in examination fees and 2–3 months of preparation time.

HOA has mentored 50+ Nepali Chevening Scholars since 2019 (internal tracking data). Chevening is the UK Government's flagship fully-funded scholarship, administered by the FCDO. HOA's support includes essay revision across all Chevening essay components, mock interview preparation, and reference letter review.

No. HOA serves students from all 7 provinces of Nepal: Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Koshi, Madhesh, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim. Students outside Kathmandu and Pokhara receive full guidance via Zoom, WhatsApp, and email during office hours (Sunday–Friday, 09:30–18:00 NPT).

From 1 June 2026, UKVI rates UK universities Green, Amber, or Red based on visa refusal rate, enrolment rate, and course completion rate (UKVI Sponsor Guidance, June 2026). Red-band universities face a CAS allocation cut of at least 10%. HOA monitors all 153 partner universities for RAG compliance status and does not refer students to Amber or Red-band institutions.

Why Nepali Students Choose the UK for Higher Education — and HOA for Guidance

The United Kingdom is a popular higher-education destination for Nepali students. A UK bachelor’s degree typically takes three years and a taught master’s one year, which can reduce the total years of study compared with four-year systems elsewhere. Several UK universities — including Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial College London and UCL — rank in the global top tier, and more than 40 UK institutions appear in the QS World University Rankings top 200 (QS World University Rankings). Tuition varies by course and university and is listed on each university page; House of Admissions matches each student to programmes that fit their budget and academic profile.

The UK Student Visa, governed by Appendix Student of the UK Immigration Rules, permits up to 20 hours of paid work per week during term time and full-time work during vacations (UK Home Office, gov.uk/student-visa), helping students offset living costs. The required 28-day maintenance balance is £10,539 for study outside London (≈ NPR 20.5 lakhs at NPR 195/£1) or £13,761 for London (≈ NPR 26.8 lakhs), per UK Home Office guidance. House of Admissions prepares complete visa files, with a reported 99% approval rate across applications it has supported (self-reported).

Living costs vary by city. Per HESA and UCAS estimates, students in cities such as Birmingham, Manchester and Loughborough typically budget around NPR 14–22 lakhs per year, compared with NPR 25 lakhs or more in London. Nepali graduates who studied in English at Tribhuvan University, Pokhara University, Kathmandu University or Purbanchal University can apply to 25+ UK universities via a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter instead of IELTS — saving up to NPR 35,000 in examination and preparation costs and 2–3 months of preparation, where the chosen university accepts MOI.

After graduation, the Graduate Route grants unrestricted work with no job offer or sponsor required (UK Home Office, gov.uk/graduate-visa). Its length depends on when the Graduate Route application is filed, not on the course dates: 18 months for applications filed on or after 1 January 2027, and 2 years only for those filed on or before 31 December 2026 (PhD graduates keep 3 years either way). Because a student beginning a UK course now will file well after that cutoff, the 18-month figure is the realistic planning number. Graduate Route time does not count toward the standard 5-year Skilled Worker settlement clock; the usual path is Graduate Route → switch to the Skilled Worker visa at the £38,700 salary threshold → Indefinite Leave to Remain after five qualifying years on the Skilled Worker route.

House of Admissions has secured £2M+ in scholarships for Nepali students since 2016 (self-reported), including 50+ Chevening placements (funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office), GREAT Scholarships (£10,000 partial awards), Commonwealth Scholarships (fully funded), and university merit awards of £2,000–£10,000+. Scholarship matching is included in HOA’s free service. Schools, colleges and organisations in Nepal can offer HOA’s UK guidance to their communities through a free partnership arrangement. Two offices serve all seven provinces of Nepal: HOA Kathmandu at Putalisadak, and HOA Pokhara at Trade Mall, Chipledhunga. Book a free consultation at either office →
