Project management is a conversion subject. It accepts graduates from engineering, business, IT, architecture and construction, and is one of the few master’s where a mismatched first degree is normal rather than a problem.
It works best for applicants who already have some delivery experience — a site role, a coordination role, a technical job with responsibility for timelines — because the teaching assumes you have seen a project go wrong.
APM and PMI Accreditation
Many UK programmes are accredited by the Association for Project Management or aligned to the PMI body of knowledge, and some include exam preparation within the degree. As with ACCA in accounting, this is granted programme by programme and is the main long-term value difference between two otherwise similar courses.
Sector Choice Matters More Than the Degree
Project management is generic; the sector you enter is not. Construction, IT, energy and healthcare project roles have different salary bands and very different sponsorship likelihood. Construction and engineering project management in particular can draw on shortage-occupation provisions that generic business roles cannot, so choosing a sector-specific programme is often worth more than choosing a higher-ranked general one.

Entry Requirements by Nepali Qualification
UK universities publish requirements as “2:1 or equivalent”, which is not directly usable if you hold a Tribhuvan, Kathmandu, Pokhara or Purbanchal transcript. This table maps the common Nepali qualifications to what actually happens at application.
