Planning your UK application from Nepal
Whatever route you take, four things decide whether a UK application succeeds from Nepal, and none of them is your grades alone. English evidence: over 25 UK universities accept a Medium of Instruction letter from Tribhuvan, Kathmandu, Pokhara or Purbanchal instead of IELTS, saving up to NPR 35,000 — though Russell Group universities generally still require IELTS, and NMC nursing registration always does. Money: you must hold GBP 10,827 outside London or GBP 14,130 for London for 28 consecutive days, at any Nepal Rastra Bank-regulated Class A commercial bank; UKVI publishes no approved-bank list for Nepal, so all 20 qualify. Paperwork: the NOC from MoEST is mandatory for every Nepali student going abroad and must be issued before any overseas tuition transfer. Afterwards: the Graduate Route gives 18 months of unrestricted work for applications filed on or after 1 January 2027, or 2 years if filed on or before 31 December 2026, with 3 years for PhD graduates.
