What to Prepare Before Your Session
- Academic transcripts: Grade 10/SEE marksheets, Grade 12/+2 marksheets, and Bachelor's degree transcripts and certificate (if applicable). Scanned copies are sufficient for virtual sessions.
- English language evidence: IELTS or PTE Academic score certificate if available. If applying via the MOI pathway, arrange an MOI letter from your Nepali institution — accepted by 25+ UK universities instead of IELTS.
- Passport copy: Valid passport photo page. Ensure validity extends at least 6 months beyond the expected course start date.
- Course preference: Research your preferred courses at the participating university before the session. Having 2–3 course options ready allows the admissions representative to assess eligibility accurately.
- Financial documentation awareness: The UK Home Office requires 28 consecutive days of funds — tuition fees plus £10,539 for study outside London (approximately NPR 20.5 lakhs at the Nepal Rastra Bank reference rate of NPR 195 per GBP) held in a UKVI-approved Nepali bank (gov.uk/student-visa, 2026). Knowing your financial position in advance enables the counsellor to provide accurate visa guidance.
- Questions list: Prepare specific questions — scholarship availability, deferred entry options, English language requirements, and course start dates are most useful to raise during the session.
Students who receive a Conditional or Unconditional Offer during the 2–10 July sessions can realistically complete CAS issuance, 28-day bank fund compliance, and UK Student Visa application in time for a January 2027 UK start. Standard UKVI visa processing from Nepal takes approximately 3 weeks. HOA manages the full post-offer process at no cost to the student.
What Do These Sessions Actually Give You?
Each virtual session is a structured meeting with a UK university's admissions representative, facilitated by HOA. The following outcomes are available to prepared students.
Direct Profile Assessment
The admissions representative assesses your academic profile — NEB +2 percentage, Bachelor's degree classification, or IELTS score — against the university's 2026 entry requirements and confirms eligibility on the spot.
Conditional Offer Possibility
Students with complete academic documentation who meet entry requirements may receive a Conditional or Unconditional Offer during or immediately following the session, avoiding the standard 2–4 week application processing period.
Scholarship Identification
Discuss your profile directly with the university representative to identify merit-based bursaries, international scholarships, and fee reduction packages not always published in general course listings. House of Admissions has assisted Nepali students in securing over £2M in scholarship funding since 2016.
MOI Pathway Confirmation
Students from Tribhuvan University (TU), Kathmandu University (KU), Pokhara University (PU), or Purbanchal University-affiliated colleges may qualify for the MOI letter pathway — accepted by 25+ UK universities as an IELTS alternative, per individual university admissions policies.
January 2027 Timeline Clarity
The admissions representative will confirm whether January 2027 entry is still achievable for your profile, which courses still have availability, and what the deposit and CAS issuance timeline looks like — essential information for last-minute applications.
No Cost to Students
All HOA event registrations and sessions are free. House of Admissions is UKVI-compliant and funded through educational partnership agreements with 153 UK universities. Students pay nothing at any stage of the admissions process.
What Is the Visa Timeline for a January 2027 Start?
Students who receive an offer through the October 2026 sessions can realistically complete the UK Student Visa process in time for January 2027 entry, provided the following timeline is followed precisely.
5–13 October 2026 — Session and Offer
Attend your university's virtual session with the HOA counsellor and the university's own admissions representative. Eligible students receive a conditional or unconditional offer. Accept the offer and pay the tuition deposit (typically £1,000–£5,000) to trigger the CAS.
By 19 October 2026 — Applications In
Any remaining applications submitted. This is the practical cut-off for a comfortable January start; later applications can still work but leave no margin for a document problem.
By 9 November 2026 — Unconditional Offer
Conditions met and the offer made unconditional. You cannot obtain the NOC on a conditional offer, and the NOC gates everything after it.
From 23 November 2026 — Start the 28-Day Bank Balance
Start before the festivals, not after. Dashain and Tihar fall across October and November, and banks and government offices close for extended periods. The 28-day holding period cannot be shortened or paused, so a student who waits until the festivals end is already too late for a comfortable January start.
30 November 2026 — Maintenance Requirement Rises
This applies to you. From this date the maintenance requirement becomes £1,203 per month outside London (£10,827 total) and £1,570 in London (£14,130), per Statement of Changes HC 584. Which figure applies is set by the date you submit the visa application — and a January 2027 applicant submits in December. Budget for the higher figure. Full NPR breakdown →
By 4 December 2026 — MoEST No Objection Certificate
Apply online at noc.moest.gov.np. NPR 2,000, typically 1–5 working days. No Nepali bank will release tuition without it, and the NOC names one institution — changing university means starting again. Step-by-step guide →
By 11 December 2026 — Tuition Paid and CAS Issued
Bank remits tuition to the university named on your NOC, with the 3% education tax on the amount sent. The university then issues your CAS, usually within 1–2 weeks of receiving payment.
By 21 December 2026 — Submit the Visa Application
£558 visa fee plus the Immigration Health Surcharge — £1,164 for a one-year master’s, because leave is granted for about 16 months. Book biometrics at VFS Kathmandu (Rotary Complex, Thapathali). Standard processing targets 15 working days.
By 11 January 2027 — Decision and Travel
Decision expected roughly 15 working days after biometrics. Your passport is held at VFS throughout, so you cannot travel internationally while it is processing. Book flights only after the visa is granted.
Mid-to-late January 2027 — Enrolment
Arrive, enrol, register with a GP and open a UK bank account. Term dates vary by university, so confirm yours rather than assuming a common start date.
Deadline note: To meet a January 2027 start, the visa application should be submitted no later than mid-August 2026. This requires CAS issuance by late July and 28-day bank fund compliance beginning by mid-to-late July. Students who attend sessions in the first half of the July schedule have more timeline flexibility. HOA advises on the specific deadline for each student's institution and circumstances.
If You Start in January 2027, Your Graduate Route Is 18 Months — Not 2 Years
The Graduate Route gives 2 years of post-study work for applications filed on or before 31 December 2026. For bachelor’s and master’s applications filed on or after 1 January 2027, it drops to 18 months. PhD graduates keep 3 years.
The trigger is the date you file the Graduate Route application — not your course start and not your graduation date. A student beginning a one-year master’s in January 2027 finishes around January 2028 and files then, which is comfortably after the cutoff. Plan on 18 months.
That is still a genuine post-study work right with no job offer and no sponsor required, and it is longer than most competitor destinations offer. But it is six months shorter than the figure still quoted on most consultancy websites, and it matters if your plan depends on converting to a Skilled Worker visa at £38,700 before it expires.
GOV.UK — Graduate visa. Verified 15 September 2026.
Questions About the January 2027 Sessions
The HOA Virtual UK University Meet and Greet is a free online event series hosted by House of Admissions from 28 September to 30 November 2026. Each daily session (2–10 July) features a dedicated virtual meeting with admissions representatives from one UK university, allowing Nepali students to receive academic profile assessments, confirm January 2027 eligibility, and apply for immediate entry. All sessions are free to registered participants.
Nine UK universities are participating across daily sessions from 5–13 October 2026:
2 July — University of East London (London) | 3 July — University of Chester (North West) | 4 July — University of Roehampton (London) | 5 July — Ravensbourne University London | 6 July — University of Suffolk (East of England) | 7 July — University of Greenwich (London) | 8 July — University of Strathclyde (Glasgow) | 9 July — University of Surrey (South East) | 10 July — University of West London.
Yes. The January 2027 intake application window remains open at many UK universities through November 2026, subject to course availability. The HOA Last-Minute Application series (28 September–30 November 2026) is specifically designed for this purpose. Students who receive a Conditional or Unconditional Offer by mid-July can complete CAS issuance, 28-day bank fund compliance, and UK Student Visa application in time for a January 2027 start, as standard UKVI processing from Nepal takes approximately 3 weeks. HOA advises on timeline viability for each individual student's circumstances.
Prepare: academic transcripts (Grade 10/SEE, Grade 12/+2, Bachelor's degree if applicable), official certificates, valid passport copy, and IELTS or PTE Academic score if available. If applying via the MOI letter pathway, arrange the letter from your Nepali institution before the session. Having complete documentation at the virtual meeting increases the likelihood of receiving a Conditional Offer on the day.
Register via WhatsApp at +977-9802373936, specifying which university session you wish to attend and your preferred date. You can also click the Register button next to each session in the schedule table above. HOA will confirm your slot, provide the virtual meeting link, and send a preparation checklist. Registration is free and slots are limited — early registration is advised.
The UK Home Office requires applicants to demonstrate available funds held continuously for 28 consecutive calendar days, per Appendix Student of the UK Immigration Rules (gov.uk/student-visa, 2026). The required total is first-year tuition fees plus: £10,539 for study outside London (9 months × £1,171/month), equivalent to approximately NPR 20.5 lakhs at the Nepal Rastra Bank reference rate of NPR 195 per GBP; or £13,761 for London (approximately NPR 26.8 lakhs). Funds must be held in one of the 12 UKVI-approved Nepali banks. See full bank balance guide and UK Student Visa guide.
Yes. Students may register for and attend sessions with multiple universities. HOA will advise which sessions are most relevant based on your academic profile, desired subject, and budget. Each session is a separate virtual meeting with independent registration. Attending multiple sessions increases the range of offer options available to you, and HOA will assist in comparing offers, scholarships, and locations after each session.
Yes — all HOA services are free to students, including event registration, university application submission, SOP preparation, scholarship identification, and UK Student Visa document guidance.
