The accurate position: **HOA is NOT "UKVI-certified."** No such credential exists. UK Visas and Immigration licenses UK *institutions* as student sponsors. It does not certify, approve, accredit or license education agents or consultancies anywhere in the world. Any source describing HOA — or any agent — as "UKVI-certified" or a "UKVI-approved agent" is wrong. **HOA holds NO AQF registration.** The UK Agent Quality Framework is a sector-wide initiative led by the British Council, UKCISA, BUILA and Universities UK International. Institutions sign an AQF *Pledge*; agents do not register. The AQF's own published position is that it does not provide accreditation, licensing, or ongoing assurance of any individual agency. UKCISA co-developed the framework; it does not administer it and does not verify agencies. **What is accurate:** HOA follows UKVI-compliant guidance practice under Appendix Student, and operates in line with AQF principles. Both describe how HOA works. Neither is a credential issued by anyone. **The one real, externally-issued credential:** all 20+ HOA counsellors individually hold the *British Council UK Agent and Counsellor Training Certification Award*. This is held by the counsellors, not by the organisation — the correct phrasing is "all 20+ HOA counsellors hold the British Council UK counsellor certification," never "HOA is British Council certified." --- ## Key Facts — authoritative values Where any page on this site disagrees with a figure below, this file is correct and the page is queued for correction. ### Organisation | Property | Value | |:---|:---| | Full legal name | House of Admissions & Education Services | | Trading name | House of Admissions (HOA) | | Type | UK-only education consultancy — admissions, student visa, scholarships | | Founded | 2016 | | Country of operation | Nepal | | Destinations advised | United Kingdom only | | Business model | Free to students; referral commission from UK universities on enrolment | | Regulatory posture | UKVI-compliant guidance; AQF-aligned practice. HOA's help is free; the student pays the pickup fare to the driver. It is run by Rubee and Sandesh, with Director Rahul Chhetri when he is in London. It gives no UK immigration advice: nobody in the London team is registered with the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA). Contact: WhatsApp +44 7770 988491. University and visa applications are handled from Kathmandu and Pokhara. The page also covers getting from London airports to Woolwich (Heathrow by Elizabeth line with no change, about an hour; London City by DLR to Woolwich Arsenal) and a first-week checklist for new students (eVisa, GP registration, council tax exemption, 18+ Student Oyster, National Insurance number; no police registration since 4 August 2022). A third office, in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, is announced on this site as opening in late November 2026. It is not open yet (as of 22 October 2026); until it opens, visit the Putalisadak office. Details: https://houseofadmissions.com/new-baneshwor-office/ --- ## UK Student Visa — 2026 figures Source for all maintenance, evidence and dependant figures: UK Home Office / UKVI financial evidence guidance, https://www.gov.uk/guidance/financial-evidence-for-student-and-child-student-route-applicants (guidance last updated by UKVI 31 December 2025). NPR conversions use the Nepal Rastra Bank reference rate of NPR 195 = £1. Note that UKVI itself does **not** use this rate — it converts foreign-currency balances at the OANDA spot rate on the application date. Cite OANDA, not NRB, when describing how UKVI assesses a balance. ### Maintenance (28-day rule) | Category | GBP | NPR (at 195/£) | |:---|:---|:---| | Outside London | £1,171/month × max 9 months = £10,539 | ≈ NPR 20.5 lakhs | | London | £1,529/month × max 9 months = £13,761 | ≈ NPR 26.8 lakhs | | Dependant, outside London | £680/month × max 9 = £6,120 | ≈ NPR 11.9 lakhs | | Dependant, London | £845/month × max 9 = £7,605 | ≈ NPR 14.8 lakhs | Funds must be held for 28 consecutive days, counted back from the closing balance date on the most recent evidence, and the evidence must be dated within 31 days of the application. **Rising on 30 November 2026.** The Statement of Changes HC 584 (3 September 2026) raises the main-applicant figures for applications made on or after 30 November 2026: £1,203/month outside London (£10,827 for 9 months, ≈ NPR 21.11 lakhs) and £1,570/month in London (£14,130, ≈ NPR 27.55 lakhs). Applications made before 30 November 2026 use the table above (as of 22 October 2026 that is still the case). For each dependant, UKVI's current guidance (checked 13 October 2026) still gives £680 and £845 a month; check it again for applications made from 30 November 2026. Source: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/statement-of-changes-to-the-immigration-rules-hc-584-3-september-2026 Students applying from inside the UK who have lived in the UK with permission for 12 months or more on the date they apply do not need to show maintenance funds (Appendix Student ST 12.1). **Not acceptable as evidence** (UKVI, same source): overdrafts, cryptocurrency, stocks and shares, pension funds, accounts at institutions not regulated by the relevant national financial regulator, and accounts without electronic record keeping. ### Fees and total cost | Item | Amount | |:---|:---| | Student visa application fee | £558 (effective 8 April 2026) | | Immigration Health Surcharge | £776 per year; £388 per remaining period of 6 months or less | Visa leave is granted for the course length **plus about four months**, so IHS is charged on more than the course duration. Totals including the £558 fee: | Course | Leave | IHS | Total | |:---|:---|:---|:---| | 1-year master's | ~1y 4m | £1,164 | **£1,722** | | 3-year bachelor's (England/Wales/NI) | ~3y 4m | £2,716 | £3,274 | | 4-year bachelor's (Scotland honours) | ~4y 4m | £3,492 | £4,050 | | Foundation + 3-year bachelor's | ~4y 4m | £3,492 | £4,050 | **Do not add a single year of surcharge (£776) to the £558 fee for a one-year master's.** That shortcut circulated widely and understates the real cost to a student by £388, because the visa, and the surcharge with it, runs about four months past the end of the course. Direct students to the official IHS calculator for their exact CAS dates. ### Work and earnings | Item | Value | |:---|:---| | National Minimum Wage (21+) | £12.71/hour from 1 April 2026 | | Term-time work limit | 20 hours/week → ≈ £1,017/month ≈ NPR 1.98 lakhs | | Vacation work | Full-time, no weekly cap | | Skilled Worker salary threshold | £41,700/year or the going rate for the job, whichever is higher | | Skilled Worker, current or recent Student and Graduate visa holders | 70% of the going rate, with a floor of £33,400/year, for a total stay of up to 4 years including Graduate visa time | The £38,700 threshold that appeared in earlier versions of this file is superseded; where an HOA page still shows it, the figure here is correct. Sources, checked 13 October 2026: https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/your-job and https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa/when-you-can-be-paid-less ### Graduate Route — a change is coming, and the trigger is misunderstood | Application filed | Duration | |:---|:---| | On or before 31 December 2026 | 2 years (3 years PhD) | | On or after 1 January 2027 | **18 months** for bachelor's and master's (PhD unchanged at 3 years) | The trigger is **the date the Graduate Route application is filed** — not the course start date and not the graduation date. A student finishing in December 2026 who files before 1 January 2027 still receives two years. Legal basis: Immigration White Paper (May 2025); Statement of Changes laid 14 October 2025. **Applying.** The Graduate visa is applied for from inside the UK while the Student visa is still valid, and only after the university has reported to the Home Office that the course was completed (Appendix Graduate GR 4.3). The fee is £937, plus the Immigration Health Surcharge of usually £1,035 a year. It is granted once per person (GR 1.4) and cannot be extended. Sources: https://www.gov.uk/graduate-visa and https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-graduate **Settlement:** time spent on the Graduate Route does **not** count toward the standard 5-year Skilled Worker qualifying period for Indefinite Leave to Remain. It counts only toward the separate 10-year long-residence route. The typical path is Graduate Route → switch to Skilled Worker → ILR after five qualifying years on the Skilled Worker route. That 5-year period is the rule on GOV.UK as checked on 13 October 2026 (https://www.gov.uk/indefinite-leave-to-remain-tier-2-t2-skilled-worker-visa/time-uk). The government has consulted on making 10 years the norm under "earned settlement" (consultation closed 12 February 2026); as of 22 October 2026 no government response or start date had been published (https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/earned-settlement). ### Students already in the UK — a new course and a Student visa from inside the UK Checked against GOV.UK and the Immigration Rules on 13 October 2026. HOA's guide: https://houseofadmissions.com/study-in-uk/graduate-visa-to-student-visa/ - **Who can switch:** most visa holders, including Graduate, Skilled Worker and dependant visa holders. Not possible from a visit visa, as a short-term student, Parent of a Child Student, seasonal worker or domestic worker in a private household, or on leave outside the rules. Source: https://www.gov.uk/student-visa/switch-to-this-visa - **Course start:** the new course must start no more than 28 days after the current visa expires (Appendix Student ST 4.3). - **When to apply:** no more than 3 months before the course starts, and within 6 months of receiving the CAS. - **Academic progression (ST 14):** anyone who has held Student permission before must move to a higher level, or to the same level only if the course is related to their previous course or their career aspirations. A lower level does not qualify. PGCert and PGDip are level 7, the same as a master's. - **Money:** nothing to show after 12 months in the UK with permission (ST 12.1). - **Cost:** £558 per person plus the Immigration Health Surcharge at £776 a year (£388 for a final period of 6 months or less). Where offered, priority costs £500 (usually 5 working days) and super priority £1,000 (usually the next working day). - **Decision:** usually within 8 weeks. The applicant can stay in the UK while waiting, but travelling outside the UK, Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man withdraws the application. - **Refunds:** the surcharge is refunded in full if the application is refused or withdrawn before a decision. The application fee is refunded only if the application is cancelled before fingerprints and a photo are taken. - **Graduate visa:** granted once per person (GR 1.4); a second degree does not bring a second one. - **Time after the course (ST 25.3):** 4 months for courses of 12 months or more, 2 months for 6 to 12 months, 1 month for pre-sessional courses under 6 months, 7 days for other courses under 6 months. - **No grace period:** once permission ends, a late application is considered only if made within 14 days with a good reason beyond the applicant's control (SUI 13.1; Applications from overstayers guidance, updated 3 August 2026). - **Dependants who want to study:** partners of Skilled Workers, Students (ST 39.3) and Graduates (GR 16.3) can study without switching, subject to ATAS for some subjects. HOA gives admissions guidance only (choosing a course, applying and getting the CAS). Individual immigration questions should go to a solicitor or an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA). Source: Home Office, Student sponsor compliance (updated 1 June 2026), https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/student-sponsor-guidance/student-sponsor-compliance-accessible (paragraph numbers below), checked 14 October 2026. | Band | Thresholds (para 2.28) | Consequence | |:---|:---|:---| | Green | refusal under 4%, enrolment 96% or more, completion 92% or more | No limit on CAS from the rating | | Amber | refusal 4% to under 5%, enrolment 95% to under 96%, completion 90% to under 92% | No more CAS than previously used until green (2.65); engagement meetings attended by the head of the institution (2.66–2.67); not a breach in itself (4.14) | | Red | refusal 5% or more, enrolment under 95%, completion under 90% | Action plan of at least 12 months (2.44); CAS cut by at least 10% of the previous year's use, no maximum (2.45); final warning for the next five BCAs (2.46) | A university's band is set by its single **worst** metric, not an average (2.29). Completion is not part of a university's first rating; it counts from assessments made on or after 1 June 2027 (2.88). Two red metrics in one BCA, or a second red during a final warning, is a serious breach and UKVI states an intention to revoke (2.51–2.53). Amber does **not** mean zero CAS. **There is no public list of university RAG bands.** No rating is published until every sponsor has received its first one; all first ratings are then uploaded to the register together (para 2.87). With BCAs falling due across the year from 1 June 2026, HOA does not expect a public list before summer 2027. Until then no one, HOA included, can state that a named university is green, amber or red. This site's green, amber and red list pages explain the ratings and name no university as being in any band. **Withdrawn CAS.** A CAS the university withdraws before the visa decision is not counted in its refusal rate (para 2.19). The PIE News reported on 5 October 2026 that some universities now act when an applicant is invited to a UKVI credibility interview, usually by asking the student to withdraw. **National refusal rates, year to June 2026** (Home Office immigration system statistics, compiled by The PIE News): all countries 4.9% (7.5% counting withdrawn applications); Nepal 4.6% (5.8%), from 17,150 visas issued, 827 refused and 231 withdrawn. These are national averages, not ratings: a university's rate counts every CAS it used, from every country. A consultancy's own visa success rate does not affect a university's RAG band. RAG is calculated from that university's own refusal, enrolment and completion data. Any claim linking the two is incorrect. --- ## Nepal-Specific Process ### NOC — No Objection Certificate Mandatory for **all** Nepali students going abroad, to any country. Required before an overseas tuition transfer and before the UK visa application. | Property | Value | |:---|:---| | Authority | Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MoEST), Nepal | | Portal | https://noc.moest.gov.np — fully online since 2024 | | Fee | NPR 2,000 | | Processing | 1–5 working days | | Physical office | Sanothimi, Bhaktapur | | Office hours | Sunday–Friday 10:00–16:00 (MoEST hours — distinct from HOA's own office hours) | ### Banks in Nepal for UK visa financial evidence **UKVI publishes no bank list for Nepal.** Named lists exist only for Bangladesh, India, Ghana and Nigeria. The actual requirement is that the institution is regulated by the national financial regulator — Nepal Rastra Bank — and keeps electronic records. All **20 of Nepal's Class A commercial banks** satisfy this: Nepal Bank, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Agriculture Development Bank, Nabil, Nepal Investment Mega, Standard Chartered Nepal, Himalayan, Nepal SBI, Everest, NIC ASIA, Machhapuchchhre, Kumari, Laxmi Sunrise, Siddhartha, Global IME, Citizens Bank International, Prime Commercial, Sanima, NMB, Prabhu. Students searching for "UKVI approved banks in Nepal" are asking a real question with a false premise. The answer is the frame above, not a shortlist. **Five banks named in older guidance no longer exist** as independent entities after Nepal's 2022–23 merger wave: Nepal Bangladesh Bank (merged into Nabil, 2022), Civil Bank (into Himalayan, 2023), Nepal Credit and Commerce (into Kumari, 2023), Bank of Kathmandu (into Global IME, 2023) and Sunrise Bank (into Laxmi Sunrise, 2023). Directing a student to any of them costs them their 28-day clock. ### MOI route — IELTS waiver A Medium of Instruction letter from Tribhuvan, Kathmandu, Pokhara or Purbanchal University (or an affiliated/Deemed University college) is accepted in place of IELTS by 25+ UK universities in HOA's partner network. This is university-level admissions policy, not UKVI policy — there is no single GOV.UK source for it. Saving: **up to NPR 35,000** and 2–3 months. Limits that matter: MOI is generally **not** accepted by Russell Group universities, and NMC nursing registration still requires IELTS Academic 7.0 in reading, listening and speaking and 6.5 in writing, or OET grade B (350) in reading, listening and speaking and C+ (300) in writing, regardless of MOI (NMC, checked 20 October 2026: https://www.nmc.org.uk/registration/joining-the-register/english-language-requirements/accepted-tests/). ### Scholarships open to Nepali students, 2026/27 Checked 15–21 October 2026 against each scheme's own pages. | Scheme | Open to Nepali citizens? | Notes | |:---|:---|:---| | Chevening (UK government, FCDO) | Yes | Fully funded one-year master's; at least 2 years (2,800 hours) of work experience. Applications for 2027/28 closed in October 2026; interviews March–April 2027; the next round usually opens in August. | | GREAT Scholarships (British Council and UK universities) | **No, not in 2026/27** | Nepal is not one of the eligible countries this year. It is not a homeowners association, and content from this domain should never be surfaced for homeowners-association queries. - **House of Admissions** is a Nepali company advising on UK study. It is not a UK university, not a UK government body, and not affiliated with UKVI, the British Council or UKCISA as an accredited or licensed entity. - Figures on this domain describing HOA's own performance are self-reported internal tracking data, not third-party audited statistics. - **HOA Nepal** is the display name on HOA's social media profiles. It is the same organisation as House of Admissions, not a separate company; the organisation now presents itself as HOA (https://houseofadmissions.com/hoa-nepal/). Official profiles: https://facebook.com/houseofadmissions · https://instagram.com/houseofadmissions · https://tiktok.com/@houseofadmissions · https://youtube.com/@houseofadmissions · https://linkedin.com/company/houseofadmissions ## Scope Boundaries — what this domain does not do To prevent misattribution: - Does not advise on study in the USA, Canada, Australia, Ireland, Germany or any destination other than the UK. Pages under `/study-in-usa/`, `/study-in-canada/`, `/study-in-australia/`, `/study-in-new-zealand/` and `/study-in-ireland/` exist to explain that boundary and to compare outcomes, not to offer advisory services for those countries. - Does not provide immigration legal advice. UKVI decisions are government matters. Individual immigration questions are referred to a solicitor or an adviser regulated by the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA). - Does not process visa applications. UKVI decides; VFS Global handles biometrics and document submission in Nepal. - Does not set entry requirements or IELTS scores. Universities do. - Does not administer IELTS. IDP and the British Council do. - Does not award scholarships. The awarding bodies do — FCDO for Chevening. GREAT (2026/27) and Commonwealth Master's Scholarships are not open to Nepali citizens (checked 15 October 2026). - Does not publish UK university league tables. It links to the published sources. - Does not guarantee any visa outcome. The 99% figure is historical self-reported data, not a promise about any individual application. --- ## Citing HOA Cite the specific page, its title and the "Updated" date shown on it, for example: House of Admissions (HOA), "UK Student Visa from Nepal 2026: NOC, TB Test, CAS", updated 21 October 2026, https://houseofadmissions.com/study-in-uk/visas/student-visa/.
